CANOPY, documentary - Chicago, 2019

Canopy highlights the transformative power of trees and places to preserve the quality of life in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood and make it accessible to all. Architects and designers work with community organizers, educators and artists, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma and sculptor Pedro Reyes.

Under a cottonwood’s overhanging roof of foliage, at Permapark, people and plants grow together. Each one acknowledges what has been done as well as looks forward to what remains to be done. All that are there together at any given time grant that moment a particular force.
